Skosmos is an open-source web-based vocabulary browser and publishing tool for SKOS vocabularies. Its features include searching and browsing, alphabetical index, thematic index, structured concept display, visualized concept hierarchy, and multilingual user interface. It is used by indexers in their daily work describing documents as well as information seekers looking for suitable keywords. In addition to a web user interface, Skosmos provides a REST-style API and Linked Data access to the underlying vocabulary data.
The target audience of this workshop are people working with vocabulary services and knowledge organization systems such as thesauri, classifications, or ontologies. We welcome current Skosmos users as well as those who would be interested in taking Skosmos into use.
In this workshop, we will provide a brief introduction into SKOS vocabularies, vocabulary services including Finto.fi, and the Skosmos tool itself. We will invite users of Skosmos around the world to showcase their systems and to share experiences and questions. We will also share latest news and developments about the upcoming Skosmos 3.0 release, which features a reimplemented front-end with enhanced responsiveness and accessibility, automated user interface tests, and easier maintainability. We will engage the participants to discuss and to provide feedback and ideas for the future development of Skosmos.
To register your participation in this workshop click on the “Going” button above. You will then receive an email notification as soon as facilitators post an update. Watch out to not register for two parallel workshops.
All times in UTC. Presentations include 5 minutes at the end for Q&A. Presentation order has not yet been finalised.

Thanks for the suggestion @crystalyragui ! We will try to arrange recordings for the workshop presentations (but not the discussion part). This of course requires consent from each presenter. At least the first (Skosmos and Finto.fi at NLF) and last (Skosmos 3) presentations will be recorded and published on the YouTube channel. Slides will be published here on the forum when possible.
Only few days left! If you have questions regarding the development, features, or the use of Skosmos, you can write them down here in advance and we can address them in the presentations and in the following discussion.

Hi, there. We have been developing a bilingual thesaurus for theological terms on TemaTres and we were wondering how we could publish it with Skosmos, especially anticipating Skosmos 3!
The presentation explained how we deployed Skosmos for a number of projects between 2015 and 2020. It outlined the advantages of Skosmos and showed one particular customisation of the UI showing a version timeline of concepts.
Here are the slides for Darren Bell’s presentation “Skosmos in CESSDA: Scaling out Semantic Interoperability”, uploaded with his permission. (I had to convert from PPT to PDF for the upload to work, I hope nothing broke too badly.)
