Abstract

Libraries are under attack from a number of directions: Bookbans, criminalization of librarianship, defundings, cyber attacks, but probably most structurally challenging is the license-only world put forward by major media conglomerates. So what should we do?

The Internet Archive now has some experience of getting sued, cyberattacked, and trying to deal with aggressive government actions. This talk will share our experiences and how we have learned from them, for better and for worse.

Internet Archive is a non-profit research library in the United States. Internet Archive Canada and Internet Archive Europe are independent libraries reflecting their sovereign cultural settings.
